Homes in Silverleaf
Silverleaf has been developed since the early 2000s, with custom homes largely in old-world styles such as Spanish Colonial, Mediterranean, and Tuscan, alongside some newer transitional designs. Projects here tend to be high-detail: custom shapes, true or simulated divided lites, arched tops, oversized entry doors, and steel or steel-look doors.
The look: Old World estate character: Spanish Colonial, Santa Barbara, Mediterranean and Tuscan homes with stucco, clay tile, arched loggias and steel-look windows and doors on golf and McDowell foothill lots. Newer homes trend cleaner, with more glass.
Heat, sun & monsoon considerations
Even with deep loggias and courtyards, west-facing glass gets intense afternoon sun. Wood and dark finishes need protection; ask about finishes and materials rated for desert exposure.
HOA, permits & approvals
Silverleaf has its own detailed architectural guidelines in addition to DC Ranch's design review. Window and door replacements, especially changes in material, color, or divided-lite pattern, should be submitted for approval. Requirements vary by association and change over time, so get a copy of your current design guidelines and submit before you order.
Views & glass choices
Mountain and valley views are common on hillside lots. Large-format lift-and-slide or multi-slide doors can work on view walls, and glass selection should balance clarity with heat control.
